India Health Fund is a not-for-profit organization that was set up as a collaborative initiative of Tata Trusts and The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria.
Our mission is to help reduce preventable deaths from communicable diseases and other public health risks. We do this by de-risking the development of promising technology and science-led solutions that have the potential to make a significant difference in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of these diseases. We collaborate with the public and private sectors to facilitate the development, adoption and scaling of these solutions. Our aim is to improve health outcomes, with a focus on primary care and in low resource settings.
We incubate and finance the development and adoption of science and technology-led healthcare solutions in collaboration with our partners. The solutions we support focus on addressing need gaps in 5 areas related to communicable diseases:
1. Screening
2. Diagnostics
3. Infection Control
4. Treatment and Care Pathways
5. Digital Interventions and Surveillance
We support innovations that can be adopted at scale and in low resource settings around the world. We aim to be capital efficient in development and cost effective in use to ensure strong investment and use cases. Our partnerships and collaborations help stimulate investments in healthcare, accelerate the adoption of new solutions which can ultimately improve outcomes for patients and ensure large scale impact.
Our approach ensures that the solutions we support adequately address the existing gaps in healthcare delivery, offer optimal capital efficiency and deliver wide-scale impact. We follow a 5 step approach:
1. Identify and prioritize problems
2. Find and fund innovations
3. Portfolio management
4. Collaborations and Partnerships
5. Market entry, adoption into the health system and access
